The upgrading of the Lake Brenton Resort on Portion 92(A Portion of Portion 53) of the Farm Uitzicht 216, received environmental Authorisation on 22/06/2005. DEA reference number 12/12/20/487.
The development is currently under construction and it has come to the attention of the developer that a (grass berm) is required to ensure that the properties to be developed is protected against storm surges and flooding.
Tuiniqua Consulting Engineers has provided the specifications for the grass berm. The soil which will be used to construct the grass berm will be taken from the site; the spoil removed in the phase 2 civil construction will be used for this purpose.
The location of the berm will be on the border of the existing plots leaving the foot and bridle path clear of any obstruction and still allowing easy access to the public.
Two alternatives for the proposed sea wall berm have been identified.
The preferred alternative will be to have the berm bordering on the individual erf boundaries (in front of the foot and bridle path) from erf 792 to the existing slipway. The top level of the Berm will be 2.25m above AMSL. The Bern will be planted with indigenous grass.
Alternative 1 will be to have the berm bordering on the individual erf boundaries (in front of the foot and bridle path) from erf 792 to erf 814. The top level of the Berm will be 2.25m above AMSL. The berm will be planted with indigenous grass.
